Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jordon Reid!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Yaleo Ovarin!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Mauricio Rocha and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ovarin fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Reid is looking to counter punch.
A head kick misses from Reid.

Ovarin shoots in and bounces Reid off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Reid will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Ovarin throws an elbow that misses. Reid uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Ovarin's guard. Nice move by Reid!


Ovarin is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Reid working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Ovarin working a defensive guard here.
Ovarin looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Ovarin not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Reid with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Reid loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Reid is stalling in the full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Reid accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Reid working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Ovarin's head.
Reid landing some decent shots from guard.
Ovarin looking for a sweep. Not yet Ovarin, not yet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Reid controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
A head kick misses from Ovarin.

Ovarin gets a takedown into half guard.
Reid is not content to let Ovarin control the position.
Ovarin trying to control from Reid's half guard. Reid has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Reid is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Reid is pulling down on Ovarin's head. It's preventing any offense from Ovarin, at least for the moment.

Reid is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Ovarin is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Ovarin is trying to stand.
Reid is trying to control. Ovarin wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Reid is taking a breather. Ovarin says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Reid is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Ovarin defends it well.

Ovarin is defending against the submission attempts here by Reid.

Reid is taking a breather. Ovarin says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Reid slows the pace down in half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ovarin avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Reid.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jordon Reid will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Ovarin throws a left and a right that both miss
and Reid counters with a one-two to the body.

Reid gets caught napping as Ovarin dives in and scores a takedown. Reid manages to retain guard.
Ovarin tries to free his leg and advance position but Reid is retaining full guard.
Reid keeping moving, preventing Ovarin from controlling successfully.
Ovarin looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Reid is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Ovarin lying in Reid's guard like a wet fish here, stalling away. Reid decides he's had enough of all that nonsense - he escapes his hips and locks up an armbar! Wow, that was slick! Ovarin taps! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
