PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Uriel Amok (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrick Willis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Amok comes to the cage accompanied by Devils. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 47 - 23 - 3, fighting out of London, Uriel Amok!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Patrick Willis!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Steve Montenegro and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Willis wants to clinch but Amok slips to the side
and Amok counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Willis takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Willis gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Amok to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Willis wants to stand up but Amok is controlling him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Amok wants to pass the guard but Willis is keeping the position.

Amok swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.

and Willis takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Amok connects with a leg kick. Willis looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Amok closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Willis quickly recovers to half guard.
Willis has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

Amok is taking a breather. Willis says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Amok seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Willis for as long as he can get away with.
Willis wants to get back to his feet.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

That was a close second round but I would say that Uriel Amok will probably get the nod.

Willis shoots in looking for a takedown. Amok tries to sprawl out of it but Willis keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Amok manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Amok scores with a one two! Willis had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Amok feints and as Willis raises his hands in defense, Amok changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Amok controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Amok wants to control from the top but Willis keeps moving.
