Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 18 - 3, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mickey Halliday!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 41 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Cru Jones!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Halliday throws a series of punches but Jones moves out of range.
Jones unleashes a big counter combination but Halliday bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Halliday throws an off balance right hand
and Jones counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Halliday looks to throw the jab but Jones is out of range.
Halliday fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Jones on the side of the head.


It looks like Cru Jones has been cut.
Halliday shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Jones eats them both and turns towards Halliday to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Halliday swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Jones.
Halliday tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Jones manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Jones is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Halliday ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jones moves away.
Jones walks into a straight right hand from Halliday.
Halliday tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jones paws at him with a jab and circles away.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Halliday throws a body kick that misses
and Jones connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Sloppy strikes from Halliday. Those never looked like landing.
Halliday tries to bum rush Jones with a series of wild strikes but Jones uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Jones looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Jones throws a counter combo.
Halliday misses the jab.

Halliday wants to clinch.
Jones stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Halliday.

Jones changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Halliday looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Jones trying to control the action but Halliday is working from the bottom.
Halliday knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jones on the ground.
Halliday is trying to get back to his feet.

Jones wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Halliday, who protects the arm well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones cracks Halliday with an elbow. That is naaassty.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jones working away.

Jones looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Jones working the body and head with strikes.
Jones grinds an elbow into Halliday's temple.
An elbow from Jones crashes against the mat.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jones throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Halliday on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Halliday prevents Jones from moving into mount.
An elbow from Jones crashes against the mat.
Halliday is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Jones working away.
Halliday is trying to buck Jones off.
Jones working away.
Jones cracks Halliday with a big right hand but Halliday just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Halliday taking punishment in the form of punches.
Halliday on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Halliday tries to get out of the position.

Jones has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Halliday is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Jones yanks on the arm and Halliday is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Jones.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Cru Jones!
