Aslund's entrance music is The Rasmus - The Fight. A fine choice. Pellegrini is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Nicola Piovani - Il Camorrista. The key to victory for Marc Aslund has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pellegrini closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Aslund to the mat! Aslund manages to get full guard.
Aslund doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Pellegrini with a nice head shot there.
Pellegrini distracts Aslund with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Pellegrini postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Pellegrini passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Pellegrini throws an elbow but Aslund slips to the side and avoids it well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Aslund is trying to control Pellegrini's posture but Pellegrini avoids it.

Pellegrini looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Pellegrini working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

Pellegrini is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Aslund knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Pellegrini is working to tighten his grip on Aslund's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Aslund has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Pellegrini is really squeezing tight and eventually Aslund passes out! Pellegrini breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
