The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tavares is looking to score with low kicks.
Tavares throws a hook but Heggs avoids it easily.
Heggs looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Tavares keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Tavares throws a predictable looking body shot
and Heggs counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Tavares looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Tavares sizes up Heggs with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Heggs closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Heggs has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Heggs moves out of range of the strikes.
Heggs replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Tavares blocks it well.
Tavares lands a really nice looking cross but Heggs seems unphased.

Heggs gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Heggs tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Tavares is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Heggs buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Heggs!! Heggs is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Tavares throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.
