The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Clements closes the distance and pushes Brooks back into the cage.
Brooks working hard to break the clinch.

Brooks has picked Clements up - he's going for a ride! Brooks dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Clements gets back to full guard.
Clements throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Clements looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Clements has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Clements escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Brooks gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Clements manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Brooks manages to get himself to full guard.

Clements's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Brooks is looking to stand up but Clements isn't so interested in that idea.

Clements is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Brooks working for a triangle but Clements defends it easily.
Clements with a flurry of punches that miss.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Clements postures up in Brooks's guard and throws a big left but Brooks blocks it.

Clements drops back looking for a leg! Brooks is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Brooks manages to kick Clements off! Clements jumps back into Brooks's guard.
Clements is looking to work some ground and pound but Brooks has wrist control.

Clements thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Clements sitting in guard, not really doing much.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Brooks forces Clements back against the cage and clinches.
Brooks wants a takedown but no success here.

Clements gets control of Brooks's arms and successfully pulls guard. Clements will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Clements lands a decent shot there.
Clements is looking to stand up but Brooks isn't so interested in that idea.
Clements looking to hit a scissor sweep but Brooks is one step ahead there.
Clements thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Brooks tries to free his leg and advance position but Clements is retaining full guard.

Brooks has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Clements to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Brooks is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Clements pulls down on the head and he's put Brooks to sleep! This one is all over!
