Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jon Melcher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Winston Churchill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jon Melcher!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Winston Churchill!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Elvis Blanc and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Churchill moves forwards but Melcher connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Melcher avoids a punch combination nicely.
Melcher tries for a takedown but Churchill circles away easily
and Churchill counters with a one-two to the body.

and Churchill counters with a nice right hand that sends Melcher toppling to the canvas! Melcher scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Churchill finish him?!


Melcher is rocked!


It looks like Jon Melcher has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Churchill clinches up against the cage.
Oh Melcher is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Churchill keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Melcher's efforts to push away.
Churchill lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Melcher backwards.

Churchill breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Melcher gets tackled into the cage by Churchill. Churchill maintains the clinch.
Melcher seems to have got his legs back now.
A frustrated look appears on Melcher's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Churchill manages to break the clinch.

Melcher closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Churchill to the mat! Churchill manages to get full guard.
Churchill pulls Melcher in close to his closed guard and prevents Melcher from doing any damage or advancing position.
Melcher won't allow Churchill to sweep him here.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
Churchill bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Melcher's guard.


That's one minute gone in the round.
Churchill stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Melcher swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Churchill has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Melcher is proving hard to escape from.
Churchill is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Melcher is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Churchill presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
A frustrated look appears on Melcher's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Churchill looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Melcher wants to break the clinch but can't.
Churchill lands a left hand that snaps the head of Melcher backwards.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Churchill.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Melcher wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Churchill lands with a short shot to the head.
Churchill lands an uppercut.

Churchill pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Churchill moves into the clinch.
Melcher is trying to break free.
Still in the clinch, Churchill scores with a nice short uppercut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Churchill pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Churchill stuffs the takedown attempt from Melcher. Melcher gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jon Melcher. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Churchill has managed to clinch.
Churchill lands a right hand.
Churchill has Melcher pressed against the cage, preventing Melcher from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Churchill.
Melcher wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Melcher tries to break the clinch but Churchill is controlling the position.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Churchill.
Churchill scores with a shot to the side of Melcher's head.
Churchill lands a left hand that snaps the head of Melcher backwards.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Churchill lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Melcher to his knees! Churchill keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Winston Churchill!
Winston Churchill very nearly forgot to thank The Kings Attire and Laundry amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
The defeated Jon Melcher had this to say: 'We tried. We failed. I guess it's back to the ol' drawing board!'.
