The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Denubis will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Denubis throws out a loose jab but Nelson uses good head movement to avoid it.
Denubis avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Denubis is defended easily by Nelson.
Nelson moves in looking to clinch but Denubis pushes him off.

Nelson moves into the clinch successfully.
Denubis drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Nelson gets the underhooks and prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Diabolical Denubis. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nelson is pushing Denubis up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Denubis throws out a loose jab but Nelson uses good head movement to avoid it.
Nelson should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Denubis tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Nelson's elbow.
Nelson will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Denubis up against the cage.

Denubis feinted with a counter takedown.

Nelson has closed the distance and engaged Denubis in a clinch.
Denubis throws a punch but it's blocked by Nelson.
Denubis misses with a punch on the inside.

Denubis turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Denubis manages to end up in side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Denubis has an Americana. Nelson didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Denubis is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Denubis hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
