PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Seifer Almasy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Bilashki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Almasy might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to The Black Mages - Force Your Way. Bilashki comes into a darkened arena with his song building. The Warriors of Skyrim kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Seifer Almasy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 19 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Jon Bilashki!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Ben Zyskovitsi and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Almasy clinches.
Almasy has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Bilashki doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Bilashki manages to break the clinch.
Bilashki closes the distance and clinches up with Almasy, looking for a takedown. Bilashki pushes Almasy against the cage but Almasy circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Bilashki lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Almasy rushes Bilashki and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Almasy obliges.
Almasy displaying some good clinch control by pressing Bilashki up against the cage.
Bilashki tries to work over Almasy's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bilashki is trying to push Almasy away but Almasy has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Bilashki is trying to break the clinch but Almasy has him pressed against the cage.
Bilashki wants to break the clinch but can't.
Almasy misses with a knee strike.
Bilashki throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Bilashki told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight.

Bilashki breaks from the clinch.
Almasy shoots for a takedown but Bilashki saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Almasy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bilashki tries to avoid it but Almasy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bilashki to the ground. Bilashki escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Seifer Almasy. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Almasy darts in looking for a takedown but Bilashki gets double underhooks and turns Almasy into the cage.

Almasy looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Bilashki!
Almasy wants to control but Bilashki is keeping him busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Almasy working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Bilashki takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Bilashki throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.
Bilashki is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Almasy has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Bilashki is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Almasy is trying to get an arm triangle but Bilashki is defending well.

Bilashki is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bilashki is pushing Almasy's head away, looking to escape. Almasy manages to hold on to the position though.

Almasy goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Bilashki rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Almasy's guard! Nice work there by Bilashki!
Bilashki prevents Almasy from getting back to his feet.
Almasy looking to control but Bilashki passes into half guard.
Bilashki perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Almasy pushes Bilashki off looking to stand but Bilashki dives back in and keeps control.
Bilashki blocks the strikes from Almasy.
Bilashki tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Almasy.
Almasy might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bilashki prevents Almasy from improving his position.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Almasy controlling the position well.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Bilashki connects with a right that clearly hurt Almasy. He's backed up against the cage with nowhere to go as Bilashki proceeds to tee off with vicious combinations till Almasy collapses and taps out under the pressure!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jon Bilashki!
A very excited looking Jon Bilashki rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
