Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alvin Ray Dunkin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James has chosen Tuesday's Gone as his entrance music. Alvin Ray Dunkin could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Tommy James's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alvin Ray Dunkin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Tommy James!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Gregory Folan and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from James does no damage.
Dunkin steps to the side to avoid the strikes from James.
Dunkin seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
James thows a left - swing and a miss!
An inside leg kick from Dunkin misses.
James circles away from the clinch attempt.
James moves out of range of the body kick.
James misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Dunkin.
James uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Dunkin.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dunkin throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
James getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
James swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
James's coach down at Montreal Fighter's Gym (4.5* Sparring) was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on James's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
A telegraphed right hand from Dunkin misses the target.

James stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Nice body kick from Dunkin.
Dunkin walks into a left hand.
James walks forward, straight into a front kick from Dunkin.
James throws a body punch but Dunkin moves out of range.
James tries for a takedown but Dunkin sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
James shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dunkin pinned against the cage. Dunkin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Dunkin throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Dunkin is looking to chop away at James's legs.

Dunkin connects with an inside leg kick.
Dunkin tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but James was well out of range. Poor timing from Dunkin.
Dunkin throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Dunkin lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Dunkin throws a sloppy body shot
letting James counter with a right hand.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
James connects with a body shot that sends Dunkin's belly button to the back.
Alvin Ray Dunkin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dunkin misses with an uppercut
and James counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Dunkin misses with a wild body shot.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from James! But no joy.
James connects with a body shot.
Dunkin throws a combination but it was largely blocked by James.

James keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Dunkin.
James misses with a few strikes there.
Dunkin scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
James connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Dunkin lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
A slapping body kick lands there for Dunkin.
James moves away from the strike by Dunkin.
James throws a body shot but no joy.
Dunkin swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A big right from James misses.
Dunkin ducks under a wild hook from James.

Dunkin wants to clinch.
James looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
The fighters circling - Dunkin throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
James throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Dunkin tries a head kick but it misses.
James pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Dunkin seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Dunkin throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Nice jab there from Dunkin.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Both fighters circling a little - Dunkin finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Dunkin slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Dunkin tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but James was well out of range. Poor timing from Dunkin.
James tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Dunkin with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

The fight stays on the outside here - Dunkin looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

James is looking to land body kicks.
James ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but James might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Dunkin has got the better of the exchanges.

Dunkin misses with a head kick.
James doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.

James lands a lovely overhand right.
James doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Dunkin keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from James.
Dunkin lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
James looks for a takedown but Dunkin sprawls well.
Dunkin swings and misses with a hook to the body.
It seemed like James was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
James takes a swing at Dunkin's ribcage but misses.
James looks to throw the jab but Dunkin is out of range.

James takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Alvin Ray Dunkin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Dunkin attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Dunkin tries a head kick but it misses.

Dunkin loads up on a big right hand but James slips the punch.
James raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Dunkin throws a low kick but it's checked well by James.
Tommy James is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
James connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Dunkin momentarily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Dunkin is looking to land body kicks.
Dunkin dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
A low kick from Dunkin is predictable there
and James counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Dunkin stuns James with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

James lands with a nice body punch.
Dunkin uses good head movement to avoid the hook from James.
Dunkin throws the kick towards the body but James avoids it.
A telegraphed right hand from Dunkin misses the target.
James slips under a jab from Dunkin.
James lands a nice shot to the body.
James blocks the body kick.

James shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as James accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Dunkin is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
James trying to control but Dunkin is working from the bottom.

Dunkin is looking to cinch up a triangle. James throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Dunkin's body to avoid the submission. Dunkin has instead reached around James's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Dunkin arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Alvin Ray Dunkin!
