Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Fabricio Valakas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yong Wright (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Valakas's entrance music is Coolio - Gangster's Paradise. A fine choice. Wright is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Emancipator - First Snow. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valakas swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Valakas gets caught flat footed, as Wright shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Valakas throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Wright slips nicely into half guard.
Valakas looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Wright takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Valakas wants to get back to full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Valakas is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Wright pulls his head out easily.
Wright wants to control but Valakas is keeping him busy.

My spies in NexGen Fight Team inform me that Wright has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Valakas is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Valakas has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Valakas has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Wright doesn't defend quickly enough and Valakas has managed to lock this one up! Can Wright escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Valakas on a fantastic submission victory.
