Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pithe Canthropus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Maven (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Canthropus comes to the cage accompanied by Pizzaman - Trippin' On Sunshine. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maven throws a hook but Canthropus blocks it.
Maven misses with a low kick.
Maven on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Maven tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Canthropus uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Maven.
Canthropus looks for a takedown but Maven sprawls well.
Canthropus connects with a body shot that sends Maven's belly button to the back.
Canthropus connects with a single shot there.
Maven lands with an uppercut that bounces Canthropus off the cage and back into range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
No joy there for Maven, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Canthropus misses with an uppercut. Maven saw that one coming.
Canthropus thows a leg kick but Maven checks it
and Maven counters with a nice uppercut.
Maven tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Canthropus was well out of range. Poor timing from Maven.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Maven takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Maven has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Canthropus.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Maven, as that shot connected.
Canthropus connects with a body shot.
Maven ducks under a wild hook from Canthropus.
Maven ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Maven moves out of range of the strikes.
Maven lands a head shot.

It looks like Pithe Canthropus has been cut.
Canthropus with a nice cross.
Maven throws a leg kick but Canthropus sees it coming and moves out of range.
Canthropus throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Good shot there by Canthropus.
Canthropus missing with a left hand there. Maven was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Canthropus catches Maven with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Canthropus goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Maven takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Maven avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Maven blocks a jab.

Maven throws a hook to the side of Canthropus's head but Canthropus sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Canthropus moves out of range of the leg kick from Maven.
Canthropus lands a head kick. Maven smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Maven feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Canthropuss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Canthropus fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Maven is out of range.
Canthropus moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Some bone on bone action there as Canthropus checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Maven throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Maven wants to slow Canthropus down by chopping away at his legs.
Maven lands a really nice looking cross but Canthropus seems unphased.
Canthropus misses with a double jab

and Maven counters with a nice right hand that sends Canthropus toppling to the canvas! Canthropus scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Maven finish him?!

Canthropus is rocked!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Maven throws a sloppy head kick and Canthropus moves out of range easily.
Oh Canthropus is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Canthropus throws a right and a left that both miss.
Maven throws a pinpoint strike between Canthropus's hands that connects right on the jaw and sends Canthropus crashing to the floor! He's out before he even hits the mat and Maven scores a great knockout victory!
