Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ligerito Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlton Leach (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carlton Leach will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ligerito Jr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Carlton Leach!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Wagner Zegers and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jr goes for a double leg but Leach avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Leach continues to drive forward.
Jr shoots and misses
and Leach counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.


It looks like Ligerito Jr has been cut.

Leach gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Leach can do anything to dispel that myth.
Jr with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jr accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Leach avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Jr has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Leach utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Jr loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Leach preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Leach is trying to keep Jr in close.
Jr throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Leach works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Jr throws an elbow that misses. Leach uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Jr's guard. Nice move by Leach!

Jr pulls Leach in to control the position.
Jr wants to sweep here but Leach controlling him for the moment.
Jr is pulling down on Leach's head. It's preventing any offense from Leach, at least for the moment.
Jr lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.


That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jr throws a strike but Leach rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Jr is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Jr is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Leach presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Jr drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ligerito Jr. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Leach lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Jr is working for takedown but Leach is calmly controlling the position for now.
Leach is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Leach prevents a takedown attempt there.
Leach lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Leach gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Jr.
Jr is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Leach breaks the clinch.
Leach goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Leach throws a series of strikes that have Jr backpedaling.

Jr gets the takedown into side control.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Jr throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Jr postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Jr misses with the ground and pound.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Jr cracks Leach with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Leach really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jr. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Jr throws an elbow but Leach slips to the side and avoids it well.
Jr tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

You can see the frustration on Leach's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Leach manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ligerito Jr dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Ligerito Jr's cut.
That's time! Jr's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Leach cracks Jr with a good jab.
Jr darts in looking for a takedown but Leach gets double underhooks and turns Jr into the cage.
Leach swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Jr.
Leach wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Leach has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Jr is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Jr has his takedown stuffed
and Leach counters with a left and a right that stings Jr.
Jr misses with a takedown attempt
enabling Leach to counter with a crisp jab.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ligerito Jr. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Oh Jr is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jr shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Jr takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Leach engages and cracks Jr with a massive lead left hook - Jr tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Leach is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:07 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Carlton Leach!
