Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Keisuke Takasugi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vito Corleone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Keisuke Takasugi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vito Corleone!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Yves DeLean and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takasugi tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Corleone defends well and Takasugi ends up having to push Corleone into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Takasugi fails with a takedown attempt.
Corleone let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Takasugi throws a body punch but Corleone moves out of range.

Takasugi feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Takasugi won't allow Corleone to sweep him here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Corleone has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Takasugi is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Corleone.

Corleone tries to bench press Takasugi off him but Takasugi keeps the position.
Corleone takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

Takasugi tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Takasugi has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Takasugi has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Corleone tries to bench press Takasugi off him but Takasugi keeps the position.
Takasugi looks up at the clock and then as Corleone takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Takasugi smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Corleone really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Takasugi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Takasugi is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Corleone is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
You can see the frustration on Corleone's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Corleone avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Takasugi.

Takasugi throws a strike aimed at the side of Corleone's head but Corleone avoids it well.

Takasugi tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Corleone is looking to regain half guard here but Takasugi keeps moving and retains side control.
Takasugi is looking to take a break and control but Corleone is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Takasugi controls the position.
Corleone throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Corleone manages to get back to half guard.
Takasugi is keen to just control but Corleone is a slippery customer.
Takasugi looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Corleone with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Takasugi wants to free his trapped foot but Corleone is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Corleone is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Takasugi pulls his head out easily.
Takasugi is looking to stall here but Corleone recovers full guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Corleone can do anything to dispel that myth.

Corleone looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Takasugi passes into half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Corleone is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Takasugi pulls his head out easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Keisuke Takasugi dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Corleone distracts Takasugi with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Corleone must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Takasugi is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Takasugi has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Corleone should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Takasugi has tightened it up now! Corleone should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
