Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Cho King Fang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gus Pappas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Cho King Fang!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gus Pappas!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Josh West and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - King Fang looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Pappas thuds a left hand into King Fang's body.
King Fang shoots in and drives through. Pappas sprawls well.
Pappas scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Pappas smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
King Fang uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Pappas.
King Fang fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Pappas looks to land a combination. King Fang sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cho King Fang. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Pappas clinches with his opponent.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
King Fang can't get the takedown.

King Fang is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Pappas breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
No luck with that takedown attempt from King Fang.
Pappas stalks King Fang and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into King Fang's face. King Fang staggers backwards, shaken.
Pappas stuffs the takedown attempt from King Fang. King Fang gets slowly back to his feet.

Pappas utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

King Fang drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Pappas manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now King Fang has Pappas in his guard.

King Fang has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
King Fang has an active guard here but Pappas has managed to pass into half guard.

King Fang is pressing down on Pappas's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Horrible takedown attempt by King Fang or perhaps it was just good defense by Pappas, which made it look bad.
Pappas ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
King Fang fails with the takedown.
Pappas throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
A jab from Pappas does it's job there.
King Fang shoots in for a takedown but Pappas shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cho King Fang. That's going to take a lot out of him.

King Fang throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Pappas was covering up waiting for the punch and King Fang finishes the takedown easily into guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
King Fang trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

King Fang lands a couple of elbows.
Pappas has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
King Fang in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Pappas pulls King Fang in close to his closed guard and prevents King Fang from doing any damage or advancing position.
Pappas bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in King Fang's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pappas wants to control from the top but King Fang keeps moving.
Pappas controls from within his opponent's guard.
Pappas must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

King Fang has his foot on Pappas's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pappas works his way back into a safe position though.

King Fang has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Pappas should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, King Fang has tightened it up now! Pappas should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
