PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Michal Korek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christopher Longstreet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Korek's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Touch me - Samantha Fox. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michal Korek!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Christopher Longstreet!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Eddie Farnsworth and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Korek throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Korek throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Longstreet.
Korek scores with a head kick. Longstreet tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
A lazy left from Longstreet finds it's target.
Longstreet misses with a double jab.
Korek uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Longstreet.
Longstreet misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
A leg kick checked by Longstreet.
Longstreet slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Korek takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Korek tries to score with a low kick but Longstreet moves his leg out of the way.
Korek drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Longstreet drops Korek with a beautiful combination! Korek stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Longstreet is looking for the KO!

Korek looks to score with a jab to the body but Longstreet is just out of range.
Oh Korek is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Korek throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

It seemed like Longstreet was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Korek doesn't manage to clinch there - Longstreet circles away.

Longstreet might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

It looked like Korek wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Longstreet takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Korek stuns Longstreet with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Longstreet goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Korek breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Longstreet is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Korek had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Korek jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Longstreet ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
A looping hook to the body misses from Longstreet. Korek does a little dance to reset his feet.

and Longstreet counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Korek clinches with his opponent.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Longstreet avoids the elbow strike from Korek, against the cage.
Longstreet lands a right hand.
Korek lands an elbow inside that Longstreet shrugs off.
Longstreet makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Christopher Longstreet dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Korek swings wildly with an uppercut but Longstreet uses good head movement to avoid it.
Longstreet lands a body punch in the clinch.
Longstreet manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Korek blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Longstreet breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Korek looks to land a left hand but Longstreet moved out of range nicely.

and Korek counters with a nice uppercut.

Korek is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Longstreet.

And an attempted straight right on the counter from Longstreet! But no joy.
Korek shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Korek lands with a nice body punch.
Longstreet throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Korek sees it coming and avoids it easily.
A jab from Korek finds it's way through Longstreet's defenses.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Korek moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.


Longstreet is rocked!
Korek fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Longstreet is still on wobbly legs! Can Korek finish him?
Korek lands with a massive overhand right! Stick a fork in Longstreet - he's out cold! Ermm... I think I just mixed my metaphors but yeah... That was a nice KO! Big win for Korek!
