Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kendrick Mack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Drake Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Drake Anderson is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kendrick Mack!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Drake Anderson!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Franklyn Lucas and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mack closes the distance and clinches.
Mack wants to break the clinch but can't.
Mack throws a knee to the head but misses.

Anderson is trying to trip Mack. He has hold of a leg but Mack is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Anderson persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Anderson makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Anderson is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Anderson with a flurry of punches that miss.
Anderson postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Anderson won't allow Mack to get back to his feet.

Mack scores with a hook to the body. Anderson takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Anderson is defended easily by Mack.

Anderson keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Mack's head.
Anderson throws an elbow that misses. Mack uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Anderson's guard. Nice move by Mack!

Anderson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Mack wants to get up but he can't break Anderson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Mack has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Anderson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Anderson wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Anderson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Anderson thows a huge punch but Mack dodges it nicely.

Anderson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Mack with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Anderson closes the distance and clinches up with Mack, looking for a takedown. Anderson pushes Mack against the cage but Mack circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Anderson chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Mack can pounce on him.

Mack instigates a clinch.
Anderson lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Anderson is looking for a takedown.
Anderson is trying to break free.
Mack tries to break the clinch but Anderson is controlling the position.

Anderson works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Mack shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Mack was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Anderson parries the strikes from Mack easily there. Mack is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Anderson to escape.
Anderson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Mack tries to move to full mount but Anderson actually manages to regain half guard.

Mack is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Anderson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Anderson has escaped and now he's on top!

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Anderson cracks Mack with a solid left hand.

Anderson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Mack avoids it really well and circles away.
Kendrick Mack has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Drake Anderson.

Mack using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Anderson has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Mack tightens his grip and picks Anderson up, before dumping him to the ground. Anderson manages to land in guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

A close second round but Drake Anderson will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Horrible takedown attempt by Anderson or perhaps it was just good defense by Mack, which made it look bad.
Drake Anderson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mack moves into the clinch.
Anderson has Mack pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Mack manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Anderson gets caught flat footed, as Mack shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Mack wants to pass the guard but Anderson is defending well.

Anderson manages to get to full guard.
Mack with a flurry of punches that miss.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Anderson wants to sweep but no luck.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Anderson tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Mack defends well and Anderson ends up having to push Mack into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Anderson shoots in but no luck this time.
Anderson has his takedown stuffed
and Mack counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Drake Anderson.
I've got Anderson winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
