Hardwood comes into the arena with Ali Bomaye by The Game blaring out of the sound system. Sumrall has chosen Kutless - Smile as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jonah Sumrall was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

and Sumrall counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Hardwood throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sumrall's waist but Sumrall gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hardwood off to one side.
Hardwood throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Sumrall swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Hardwood misses the body punch

and Sumrall counters by clinching up.
Hardwood misses with a hook from the clinch.

Hardwood tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Sumrall blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Hardwood misses with a hook to the ribs.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hardwood has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

It looks like Major Hardwood has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Sumrall drops Hardwood with a big knee straight up the middle! Hardwood is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!

Hardwood is rocked!
Hardwood misses with a low kick.
Sumrall throws a big counter head kick but Hardwood avoids it with no problem.
Oh Hardwood is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hardwood misses with a jab to the body
and Sumrall rattles Hardwood with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Hardwood tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Sumrall dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Hardwood stiff and motionless on the mat!
