The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jobava misses with a few strikes there.

Jobava shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Macias wants to stand and escape but Jobava is having none of it.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Still in half guard, Jobava seems content to control.

Macias really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Jobava shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Macias is trying to defend but Jobava finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Jobava fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Macias sprawls well initially but Jobava persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Well, if Jobava is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
