PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gator Bait (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeremy Crusher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bait comes to the cage accompanied by Alligator under my bed. Crusher has chosen Around The Fur by Deftones as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Gator Bait!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jeremy Crusher!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bait jabs Crusher right on the nose. Crusher blinks but takes it well.
Bait throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Bait tries a head kick but it misses.
Nice jab there from Crusher.
Bait throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Danga de danga de dang - Bait scores with a four punch combination!
Bait throws a right and a left that Crusher avoids nicely.
Bait throws a head kick but Crusher moves out of range.
Crusher misses with a hook. Bait ducked under it nicely.

and Crusher decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Bait's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Crusher throws out a loose jab but Bait uses good head movement to avoid it.

Bait lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Crusher shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Bait counters with a left to the body.
Crusher bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Bait's head backwards.
Bait throws a head kick but Crusher moves out of range.
Crusher dodges the punch combination from Bait.
Bait throws a nice head kick!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bait displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Crusher throws out the jab.
Crusher has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Bait.
Bait jabs Crusher to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Crusher shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bait but Bait pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Gator Bait has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jeremy Crusher.
Bait rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Crusher moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Bait tries to bum rush Crusher with a series of wild strikes but Crusher uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Crusher counters with a single leg into guard. Bait didn't expect that.

Crusher tries to free his leg and advance position but Bait is retaining full guard.

Bait manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Crusher jumps guard but Bait stands there with Crusher around his waist. Crusher gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Bait breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Crusher fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bait misses with a series of wild punches.
Crusher now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gator Bait dominated that round.
That's time! Bait's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Bait cracks Crusher with a right hand to the side of the head.
Crusher looks to land a right hand but Bait moved out of range.
Bait swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Bait will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Crusher counters with a takedown into side control.
Crusher throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Bait works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

Crusher is trying to control the action in half guard but Bait is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Crusher has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Crusher thows a huge punch but Bait dodges it nicely.

Crusher fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bait avoids it really well and circles away.

Crusher shoots in looking for a takedown. Bait tries to sprawl out of it but Crusher keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bait manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
