Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Doyle Norris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Blake Griffinith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Doyle Norris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Blake Griffinith!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, John Kavanagh and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Norris keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Griffinith tries to clinch but Norris moves out of range.
Griffinith will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Norris tries to counter by clinching up but Griffinith breaks away and moves out of range.

Griffinith scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Griffinith throws an elbow but Norris slips to the side and avoids it well.
Griffinith is looking to take a break and control but Norris is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Griffinith wants to stand but Norris has his arm trapped.

Griffinith tries to move to mount but Norris blocks the move with his legs.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Norris is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Norris slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Griffinith stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Norris swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Griffinith's corner is telling him to maintain position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Griffinith shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Norris manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Norris might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Griffinith would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Norris working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Griffinith doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Griffinith manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Griffinith wants to control from the top but Norris keeps moving.

Griffinith throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Norris escapes and throws Griffinith's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Blake Griffinith dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Griffinith throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Norris was covering up waiting for the punch and Griffinith finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Griffinith drops back, looking for a kneebar! Norris looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Norris looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Norris!

Griffinith is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Norris off and has taken his back!
Norris tries to roll but Griffinith sticks to his back.

Griffinith controlling the position well here. Norris rolled but Griffinith kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Norris really is a fat lump.

Norris is trying to remain composed but Griffinith is hammering down strikes to the side of his head.

Griffinith controlling well, preventing Norris from escaping the position.

Griffinith is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Norris knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Norris for a finish.

Norris is covering up but some of the strikes from Griffinith are getting through and doing damage.


It looks like Doyle Norris has been cut.
Griffinith keeps control of the position easily here as Norris tries to buck him off.

Griffinith is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Norris has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Norris tries to escape but Griffinith has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Griffinith might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Norris haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Blake Griffinith has got the better of the ground game so far.
You can see the frustration on Norris's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Norris defends a prolonged rear naked choke attempt and turns nicely into his opponent's guard.
Norris is working Griffinith over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Griffinith wants to stand and escape but Norris is having none of it.
Griffinith lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Griffinith has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Norris is proving hard to escape from.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


A jab from Griffinith finds it's way through Norris's defenses.

Griffinith feints and as Norris raises his hands in defense, Griffinith changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Griffinith creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Norris sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Norris is working to avoid the ground and pound but Griffinith connects with a decent elbow.
Griffinith wants to stand but Norris is controlling his arm.

Griffinith tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Griffinith has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Blake Griffinith comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Griffinith has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
