The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Parmesan has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Poggle can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Poggle stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Parmesan swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Parmesan is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Poggle defends well.

Poggle got a little sloppy there for a moment and Parmesan has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Poggle has managed to get both his arms back between Parmesan's legs - danger averted.

That was a close round but I would say that Timothy Poggle will probably get the nod.

Poggle feints and then cracks Parmesan's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Parmesan down.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Donk. Parmesan catches Poggle right on the button with a cross.

Poggle bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Parmesan feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Poggles jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Parmesan goes for a double leg but Poggle avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Poggle continues to drive forward.
It looked like Poggle wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Parmesan throws a lazy right hand but Poggle sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Parmesan has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Poggle.
Poggle works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Parmesan takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Parmesan fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Poggle, pushing him back against the cage.
Parmesan is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Poggle gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

We've been hearing good reports from Poggle's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
