Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Darren Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Granger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Granger comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Jiu-Jitsu kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! John Granger acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Darren Brown!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, John Granger!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Aafke Stam and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Granger.

Brown shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Brown will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Granger is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Brown defends well.

Granger had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Brown defends it easily.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Granger is on top in guard.

Brown tries to improve his position but instead Granger has taken his back!
My spies in Unicorn Powered Fighting inform me that Granger has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Granger is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Brown knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Brown for a finish.

Brown stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Granger swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Granger looking to hit a scissor sweep but Brown is one step ahead there.
Granger utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Brown drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Brown jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Granger is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Brown off and has taken his back!

Brown defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Granger's arms.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Brown tries to break free.

Brown is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Brown really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Granger has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Brown! Can he survive? No! He's out! Granger gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
