The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Garbutt looks to land a right hand but Adams moved out of range.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The fight stays on the outside here - Adams looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Garbutt has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Adams uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Garbutt has time to react.

Garbutt takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Garbutt accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Adams has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Garbutt finds it's way round the side to connect with Adams's head.

It seemed like Garbutt was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Garbutt keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Adams misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Garbutt throws a front kick that sends Adams stumbling back into the cage.

A close round but Kevin Garbutt will probably get the nod.

Horrible takedown attempt by Adams or perhaps it was just good defense by Garbutt, which made it look bad.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Adams crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Garbutt - the referee stops the clock and Adams gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Garbutt. Adams manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

A nice leg kick lands there from Garbutt.
Adams goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Garbutt has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Garbutt is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Adams with a body shot.
Adams on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Adams slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Garbutt cracks Adams with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Adams tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Garbutt pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Adams is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
