Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Pliskan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kanegawa Takanobu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, David Pliskan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kanegawa Takanobu!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Ryoma Takatsuka and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pliskan lands a high kick!
Pliskan is looking to clinch.
Takanobu tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Pliskan tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Takanobu swivels and escapes.
Takanobu drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Pliskan defends it well.
Pliskan lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Pliskan.
Takanobu tries to move into range but Pliskan moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Pliskan scores with a kick to the midsection.
Pliskan lands with a kick to the temple. Takanobu shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Takanobu takes a head kick and keeps coming.


It looks like Kanegawa Takanobu has been cut.

Pliskan gets a clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Pliskan lands a damaging elbow.

Takanobu wants a takedown but no success here.
Takanobu tries to pull guard but Pliskan forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Takanobu has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Pliskan after a bit of a struggle.
David Pliskan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kanegawa Takanobu.

Pliskan wants to take the fight to the mat but Takanobu manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Takanobu stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pliskan swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Pliskan is looking to stand up but Takanobu isn't so interested in that idea.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Takanobu shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Pliskan napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Takanobu is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Pliskan has escaped the position, nice work there.

Takanobu is trying to get an arm triangle but Pliskan is defending well.
Pliskan is pushing Takanobu's head away, looking to escape. Takanobu manages to hold on to the position though.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Takanobu tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Takanobu has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

David Pliskan dominated that round.

Pliskan plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Takanobu works his foot free and advances to mount.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Pliskan defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Takanobu.
Pliskan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Takanobu on the ground.

Takanobu working for a choke but Pliskan is defending well.
Takanobu controlling the position well here. Pliskan rolled but Takanobu kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

Pliskan is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Takanobu gets his way!

Takanobu has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Pliskan has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
