Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rodney Holzken (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Barry Hawkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Rodney Holzken!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Barry Hawkins!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Steven Brown and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Holzken closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hawkins to the mat! Hawkins manages to get full guard.
Holzken will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Holzken avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Hawkins looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Hawkins working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Holzken doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Holzken manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Holzken wants to free his trapped foot but Hawkins is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Holzken seems to be working for a kimura but Hawkins defends the submission attempt.

Holzken has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hawkins tries to reverse the position but Holzken maintains control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Holzken misses with a body shot.
Hawkins swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Hawkins dives in for a single leg takedown but Holzken sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Holzken is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hawkins can do to turn this around?

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Hawkins looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Holzken! Submission of the night perhaps?

A relieved looking Rodney Holzken thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
