PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pimbo Tights (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gary Ridgway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tights comes to the cage accompanied by Mama Gon Knock You Out!. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Gary Ridgway was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Gary Ridgway!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ridgway misses with a low kick as Tights jumps back.
Ridgway lands with a kick to the ribs.
Tights misses with a hook.
Tights moves forwards but Ridgway connects with a nice, crisp jab.
A shot to the liver by Ridgway. Beautiful body shot.

Tights has Ridgway up against the cage in a clinch.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Tights.

It looks like Gary Ridgway has been cut.
A frustrated look appears on Ridgway's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Ridgway blocking some punches.
Tights keeps control of Ridgway as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Tights trying to land knees to the body.
Tights with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.

Ridgway has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Tights regains guard immediately.

Ridgway lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Tights walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Ridgway circles away from the clinch attempt.
Tights takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Tights tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Ridgway manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Tights stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Ridgway.
Ridgway connects with a body shot that sends Tights's belly button to the back.

Ridgway shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Tights is trying to defend but Ridgway finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ridgway is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Tights sees it coming and defends easily.
Ridgway passes the guard and advances to mount!
Tights is trying to stand.
Tights is bucking up trying to escape but Ridgway cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Tights knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ridgway on the ground.

Tights is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Ridgway wants to finish this one by submission but Tights is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Ridgway.
Tights is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.

Let's hope that Ridgway has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Ridgway working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.

Ridgway connects with a good right hand that stumbles Tights. Tights circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ridgway is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Tights is just riding it out for now. Ridgway eventually gives up the hold.

Ridgway is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Ridgway extends the arm and Tights is forced to tap!
