Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Nevsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyrone Slade (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 34 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alexander Nevsky!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tyrone Slade!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Tiny Johnson and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slade throws a head kick that misses

and Nevsky counters with a takedown into side control.

Nevsky is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Slade knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Nevsky wants to control but Slade is keeping him busy.
Nevsky has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Slade tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Nevsky wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Nevsky working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Slade is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Slade is looking for a sweep.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
You can see the frustration on Slade's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Slade looking for a sweep but Nevsky has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Nevsky wants to control the action but instead Slade gets a body lock and reverses into Nevsky's guard! Nice work!
Slade is looking to work some ground and pound but Nevsky has wrist control.
Nevsky wants to get back to his feet but Slade is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Slade lands a couple of digs.
Slade trying to control the position from guard on top but Nevsky is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Nevsky pushes Slade off and gets back to his feet.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Nevsky is defended easily by Slade.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Slade throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Nevsky.
Jab by Slade.
Slade thows a leg kick but Nevsky checks it

and Nevsky counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Nevsky postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Slade is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Nevsky, into his guard.

Slade is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Nevsky pushes Slade off and scrambles back to his feet.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Nevsky is defended easily by Slade.
Slade unleashes a big counter combination but Nevsky bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Nevsky feints and as Slade raises his hands in defense, Nevsky changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Nevsky engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Nevsky connects with a couple of short punches.
Nevsky loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Slade seems keen to control Nevsky's posture.
Slade is looking to sweep but instead, Nevsky has passed into half guard.
Slade gets back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alexander Nevsky dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Slade swinging wildly here.
Nevsky feinted with a counter takedown.
Slade throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Nevsky avoids the head kick by Slade.
A slapping leg kick lands for Slade.
Nevsky shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Slade as he avoids it easily.
Nevsky is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Slade can do to turn this around?
Nevsky shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Slade defends it nicely.
Nevsky is trying hard to land a takedown here. Slade sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alexander Nevsky. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nevsky shoots for a takedown but Slade saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Slade moves out of range as Nevsky strikes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Nice body punch from Slade.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Nevsky doesn't manage to clinch there - Slade circles away.
Slade connects with a single shot there.
Slade is looking to slow Nevsky down with leg kicks.

Nevsky shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Slade sprawls well. Slade wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Nevsky gets slowly back to his feet.
Slade appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Nevsky doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Tyrone Slade is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Slade scores with a punch to the head.


It looks like Alexander Nevsky has been cut.
Slade swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Slade throws out a leg kick but Nevsky moves out of range and Slade only half commits.
Nevsky moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.


Nevsky is rocked!
Tyrone Slade seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Slade throws an uppercut from hell that sends Nevsky clean off his feet! He's out cold! Slade stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Tyrone Slade!
Alexander Nevsky spoke after the fight, saying 'Well ... what can I say ... my opponent was better than me tonight and congratulations for him! But I will come back strong and better prepared next time and put on a show for you guys !!!!'.
