Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jorge Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Alec Ball and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Burns sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Johnson somewhat.
Johnson is trying hard to land a takedown here. Burns sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Burns wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Johnson moves into the clinch successfully.
Burns is trying to pull guard but Johnson has him pressed against the cage.
Burns keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Johnson's efforts to push away.
Johnson wants to get back to striking at distance but Burns won't allow it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Johnson lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Burns jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Johnson walks away with a smile on his face. Burns gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Burns shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Johnson but Johnson pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Johnson looks for a takedown but Burns sprawls well.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Johnson.
Johnson fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Burns tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Johnson manages to circle out of the way.

Johnson tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Burns defends well and Johnson ends up having to push Burns into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Burns is looking to counter the offense by Johnson and move into the clinch.
Jorge Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Burns jumps guard but Johnson stands there with Burns around his waist. Burns gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Johnson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Burns dives in for a single leg takedown but Johnson sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Johnson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Burns is fending him off so far but Johnson persists. Nope, Burns circles away and we're back to standing.

Burns can't find room to land a body shot as Johnson controls the action.
Johnson is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Burns to keep the fight standing.
The referee is keeping an eye on Burns - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
A frustrated look appears on Johnson's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Burns gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Johnson.
Johnson looks winded!
Johnson misses with an elbow over the top.

Burns pulls Johnson into guard.
Johnson stays in close to Burns's body and controls the position.

Johnson stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Johnson shoots and misses
and Burns counters with a left to the body.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Burns fails with an attempt to clinch.
Johnson throws a series of punches but Burns avoids them all with ease.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Sang Burns will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


No luck for Johnson with that takedown attempt.
Johnson swats away the attempt to clinch by Burns.

Johnson gets the takedown into side control.
Johnson postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Burns struggling a bit here.
Burns is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Johnson asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Burns is looking for a sweep.

Johnson has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Burns takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Johnson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Burns is fending him off so far but Johnson persists. Nope, Burns circles away and we're back to standing.

Johnson shoots in looking for a takedown but Burns manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Johnson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Johnson is breathing heavily.

Burns really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Johnson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Johnson trying to control the position from guard on top but Burns is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Burns is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Johnson wants to pass the guard but Burns is keeping the position.

Johnson drops back looking for a leg! Burns is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Burns manages to kick Johnson off! Johnson jumps back into Burns's guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Burns tries for a takedown but Johnson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Johnson throws a series of punches but Burns moves out of range.
Burns lands with a shot to the body.

Johnson moves into the clinch.
Johnson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Burns is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Burns is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Jorge Johnson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Burns has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Johnson thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Burns wanted to stand there but Johnson had control of the position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Burns avoids the head kick by Johnson.
Burns half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Johnson fails with a takedown attempt.
Johnson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Johnson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Burns fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Johnson avoids it really well and circles away.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Johnson is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Burns pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Burns throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Burns fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Burns has a couple of punches blocked by Johnson.
Burns stalls.
A nice right hand lands inside from Johnson.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Jorge Johnson.
I think Johnson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
