Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joey Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Caleb Hensley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hensley has chosen Eye of The Tiger as his entrance music. Joey Williams has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Joey Williams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Caleb Hensley!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Chris Saunders and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Williams fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hensley, pushing him back against the cage.
Hensley stalling against the cage.
Hensley's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Hensley jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Williams walks away with a smile on his face. Hensley gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Williams tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hensley swats him away and circles back towards the center.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Williams tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Hensley appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Hensley shoots in for a takedown but Williams shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Hensley closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Williams's guard.
Williams will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Hensley trying to control the position from guard on top but Williams is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Williams is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Hensley is controlling him.
Williams manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hensley manages to get himself to full guard.

Williams is looking to work some ground and pound but Hensley has wrist control.
Williams really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Hensley is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Williams throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hensley works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Hensley is trying to control the position but Williams postures up.
Williams wants to stand and escape but instead Hensley has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Hensley passes Williams's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Hensley seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Williams does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Williams wants to control but Hensley is keeping busy.

Hensley decides to stand up, so the ref orders Williams to his feet.

Williams closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Hensley is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Williams pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Joey Williams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Caleb Hensley.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

That was a close round but I would say that Joey Williams will probably get the nod.

Hensley shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Williams sprawls well. Williams wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hensley gets slowly back to his feet.

Hensley gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Hensley is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Williams is defending well.
Hensley has Williams pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Williams manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

The referee is keeping an eye on Williams - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Hensley fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Hensley is trying to drag Williams to the mat but Williams just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Williams prevents the takedown attempt.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Hensley working aggressively here.
Williams avoids the elbow strike from Hensley, against the cage.
Hensley wants to take the fight to the mat but Williams manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Williams is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Williams gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Hensley.

Hensley breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hensley changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Williams tries to avoid it but Hensley manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Williams to the ground. Williams escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Williams connects with a looping right hand.

Williams tries to keep at a distance but Hensley has taken the fight into the clinch.
Hensley has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Williams after a bit of a struggle.
Williams is struggling to control the position.

Hensley lands a takedown into guard.
Hensley is breathing heavily.

Hensley got a little sloppy there for a moment and Williams has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hensley has managed to get both his arms back between Williams's legs - danger averted.

Hensley stops Williams from standing up.
Williams knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hensley on the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Williams throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Hensley escapes and throws Williams's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Williams is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Williams gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Caleb Hensley will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!



Williams feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Hensley is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Hensley wants to stand but Williams has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Williams is trying to control but Hensley manages to pass to mount!
Williams wants to hold on but Hensley pushes him away.
Hensley can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Williams is looking to escape.
Williams is in all sorts of trouble here.
Williams wants to control but Hensley is having none of it.
Hensley with a couple of short strikes.

Hensley goes for an armbar but Williams turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Williams.

Hensley pushes a forearm under Williams's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Williams is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:28 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Caleb Hensley!
A relieved looking Caleb Hensley thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
