Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brad Schmitt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones has chosen GDFR-Flo Rida as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jon Jones!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Alyssa Summers and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones throws a nice looking combination but Schmitt bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
The fight stays on the outside here - Jones looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Jones shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Schmitt dives in and scores a takedown into Jones's guard.

Schmitt seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Jones for as long as he can get away with.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Schmitt throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jones's waist but Jones gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Schmitt off to one side.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Schmitt drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Schmitt jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Jones is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Schmitt shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jones as he avoids it easily.

Jones looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Schmitt is defended easily by Jones.
Schmitt misses with a takedown attempt - Jones sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Jones changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Schmitt tries to avoid it but Jones manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Schmitt to the ground. Schmitt escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Jones tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Jones throws a series of punches but Schmitt moves out of range.

Jones must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Schmitt slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Schmitt will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

I would just about give that final round to Jon Jones.
