The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Diggs. No joy for Butcher on that attempt.

Diggs jumps guard and drags Butcher to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Butcher really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Diggs. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Diggs controls Butcher momentarily but Butcher frees himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Diggs has hold of Butcher's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Butcher manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Abdullah Butcher's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
