The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Valeri Chadov and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nokautov misses with a hook
and Smithing counters with a nice double leg into side control. Nokautov won't be happy with that.
Smithing is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Nokautov will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Let's hope that Smithing has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Smithing connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Nokautov some visible discomfort.
Smithing slows the pace down.
Smithing has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Smithing is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Nokautov looks calm but he's in trouble here. Smithing gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Nokautov is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Smithing lets go of the hold and Nokautov can pop his arm back in it's socket.
