Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eduardo Carr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danny Awani (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Eduardo Carr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Danny Awani!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Skip Squint and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Carr.
Carr on the wrong end of a nice hook.


It looks like Eduardo Carr has been cut.
Danny Awani seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Awani has his takedown stuffed
and Carr counters with a two punch combo.

Awani clinches up with Carr and pushes him back against the cage.
Carr swings wildly with an uppercut but Awani uses good head movement to avoid it.
Awani has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Carr could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Carr gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Awani.

Carr wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Awani has him pressed against the cage.

Awani closes this distance looking for a takedown but Carr circles away.
Awani shoots in looking for a takedown but Carr manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Awani's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Awani tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Carr paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Carr throws a big counter combination but Awani scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Awani fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Carr avoids it really well and circles away.

Awani throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Carr.
Awani misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Awani darts in and clinches Carr up against the cage.
Awani is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Carr to keep the fight standing.

Awani pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Awani shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Carr counters with a one-two to the body.
Awani wants to clinch up but Carr keeps it at a distance.
Awani closes the distance and clinches up with Carr, looking for a takedown. Awani pushes Carr against the cage but Carr circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Carr throws a series of punches but Awani avoids them all with ease.

Awani tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Carr swivels and escapes.

Awani must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Awani wants to stand and escape but instead Carr has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.


Awani is working an open guard so Carr takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Awani shoots in looking for a takedown but Carr manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Awani's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Awani looks to land a left hand but Carr moved out of range nicely.

Awani throws a strike aimed at the side of Carr's head but Carr avoids it well.

Awani decides to stand back up. Awani steps back and let's Carr get back to his feet.

Awani dives in and grabs Carr's left leg, looking for a takedown. Carr pushes down on Awani's head and hops out.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

That was a close second round but I would say that Eduardo Carr will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Awani changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Carr tries to avoid it but Awani manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Carr to the ground. Carr escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Awani tries a head kick but it misses.
A quick step to the side and Carr tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Awani dives in for a single leg takedown but Carr sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Awani fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Carr avoids it really well and circles away.
Carr thinks about countering with a head kick.

Horrible takedown attempt by Awani or perhaps it was just good defense by Carr, which made it look bad.
Awani shoots in looking for a takedown. Carr tries to sprawl out of it but Awani keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Carr manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Awani looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Carr is fending him off so far but Awani persists. Nope, Carr circles away and we're back to standing.
Carr is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Awani can do to turn this around?
Carr throws a sloppy head kick and Awani moves out of range easily.
And Awani responds with a good body kick, but Carr manages to step out the way in time.
The fight stays on the outside here - Awani looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Carr went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Awani shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Carr counters with a head kick.
Carr displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Awani.
Carr was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Awani tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Carr manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Carr throws a head kick that misses.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Carr looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
And Awani tries to counter it with a takedown but Carr pushes his down on his head and steps out.

and Carr counters with a one-two to the body.

And that's the end of the fight!
Eduardo Carr showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Carr, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
