Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matthew Clay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Martin Marchal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Matthew Clay!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Martin Marchal!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Daniel Blasius and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clay uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Marchal.

Marchal is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Clay got a little sloppy there for a moment and Marchal has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Clay has managed to get both his arms back between Marchal's legs - danger averted.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Marchal has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Clay is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Marchal.

Clay takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Marchal working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Clay doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Clay manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Marchal had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Clay defends it easily.

Clay lands a heavy shot. That's hurt Marchal! Clay sees the opportunity and turns up the heat - strike after strike land to the defenseless Marchal and the ref dives in to save him! This one is all over!

After the fight, Matthew Clay was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
