Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Wedge Xiii (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kuai Liang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Liang comes into a darkened arena with his song building. So Cold by Breaking Benjamin kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Liang has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Wedge Xiii had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 146.4lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Liang takes one to the chin there.
Liang looks winded!
Liang slaps away a takedown attempt from Xiii, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Xiii fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Liang avoids it really well and circles away.
Liang looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Xiii gets in close and instigates a clinch.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Xiii.
Liang is trying to stall.
Xiii's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Liang is fighting off a takedown attempt but Xiii is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Liang to the mat. Liang regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Xiii is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Xiii stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Liang swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Xiii postures up in Liang's guard and throws a big left but Liang blocks it.

Xiii drives through and clinches with Liang against the cage.

Xiii goes for a takedown in the clinch but Liang prevents it.

Xiii lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Liang backwards.

Liang can't find room to land a body shot as Xiii controls the action.

Liang stops a takedown attempt from Xiii.

A short body shot lands from Xiii as the two fighters clinch.
Xiii blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Xiii drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Liang gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Xiii has picked Liang up - he's going for a ride! Xiii dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Liang is staying active underneath Xiii, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Xiii is trying to control. Liang wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Xiii closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Liang keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Liang tries to kick Xiii off but Xiii keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Xiii is looking to advance position but Liang won't allow it.

Xiii thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Liang's head.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Liang is wriggling around trying to escape.
Liang is squirming around, avoiding Xiii's attempts to control the action.

Xiii is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Xiii!
