The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kraken steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Vos.
Vos throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Kraken counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Vos works the jab nicely.
Vos looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Vos was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

The fight stays on the outside here - Kraken looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Vos is trying to pull guard but Kraken turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Kraken.

Vos jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Kraken walks away with a smile on his face. Vos gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Kraken throws a looping overhand right but Vos ducks down to avoid it.

Kraken closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kraken lands in his opponent's guard.

Vos manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kraken manages to get himself to full guard.

Our spies down at at 5 Star Spar Bazaar inform us that Kraken has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Kraken working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Vos doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Vos manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Vos stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kraken swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Vos sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Kraken's guard.
Vos wants to control but Kraken is keeping him busy.

Vos is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Vos is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Kraken is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Vos stands and throws Kraken's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Kraken is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Vos is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Kraken!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Vos moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Kraken has worked his arm free - good work by Kraken!

Vos goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Kraken rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Vos's guard! Nice work there by Kraken!
Vos controls Kraken momentarily but Kraken frees himself.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Jake Vos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kraken scores with a slapping inside leg kick.

Kraken's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Vos connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Kraken scrambles back to his feet.

Vos has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kraken uses from the top position.
