The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shock tries to close the distance and clinch but Garcia swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
JM Shock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Shock moves into range and clinches up with Garcia.
Shock lands an elbow inside.

Garcia is trying to break the clinch but Shock has him pressed against the cage.

Garcia breaks the clinch.
Shock tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Garcia manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Shock pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Garcia really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Garcia takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Shock throws a right and a left that Garcia avoids nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Shock drives through and clinches with Garcia against the cage.

Garcia wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Shock has Garcia pressed against the cage. He pushes Garcia back and as he springs towards him off the cage, Shock throws a beautiful elbow that sends Garcia crashing to the floor! Shock piles on the pressure with more strikes! Garcia is flailing away but he's not defending himself and the referee steps in to stop the fight!
