The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fernandez closes the distance and lands a one-two.

It looks like Garth Gordon has been cut.
Fernandez looks to clinch
and Gordon makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Gordon keeps the fight on the outside.
Fernandez misses with a takedown attempt - Gordon sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Gordon appears to be looking for a big counter.

Fernandez tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Gordon closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Fernandez's guard.

Fernandez misses with a series of wild punches.
Fernandez fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Fernandez shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Gordon pinned against the cage. Gordon gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Gordon throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Fernandez tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Gordon is in Fernandez's guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Fernandez is on top in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
