Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Stephano Rodrigez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Broly Goku (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodrigez displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Goku.

Goku's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Rodrigez rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Goku seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rodrigez does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Goku wants to stand but Rodrigez has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

and Goku counters with a series of strikes. Rodrigez will be more careful next time no doubt.

Horrible takedown attempt by Rodrigez or perhaps it was just good defense by Goku, which made it look bad.
As Rodrigez backs off Goku throws a huge counter combo but Rodrigez manages to avoid it all.
Rodrigez is breathing heavily.
Rodrigez tries to close the distance and clinch but Goku swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Rodrigez tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Rodrigez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Rodrigez leaves Goku with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Goku is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Rodrigez is aware though and is defending well.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Goku is on top in guard.

Rodrigez has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Goku is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Rodrigez.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Goku decides to stand up, so the ref orders Rodrigez to his feet.

Goku has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Goku drives through and clinches with Rodrigez against the cage.

Goku has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Rodrigez uses from the top position.
Goku bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Rodrigez's guard.

Goku is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Rodrigez has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Goku tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Goku is landing with some decent strikes but Rodrigez is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Broly Goku showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Rodrigez fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
No luck for Goku with that takedown attempt.
Rodrigez tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Goku manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Rodrigez lands a head kick. Goku smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Well Goku has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
