Cook comes to the cage accompanied by I Want You to Want Me by Cheap Trick. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

With a record of 15 - 16 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hans Gruber!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Alec Ball and Elvis Blanc.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cook sizes up Gruber with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Gruber misses with a body shot.
Gruber uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Cook.
Cook looks to throw the jab but Gruber is out of range.
Cook throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Gruber sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Cook tries to clinch up.
Gruber scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Cook getting the better of the striking in that exchange.

Cook has managed to clinch.
Cook pushes Gruber back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Cook tries to break free but Gruber pushes him back against the cage.
Cook misses with a punch on the inside.

Cook pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Gruber throws a nice looking combination but Cook bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Gruber lands a left and a right that sends Cook crashing to the canvas! Gruber dives into mount looking to finish!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Cook holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Gruber tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

Gruber thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
The referee warns Cook that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Gruber thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Cook is desperately trying to improve his position but Gruber has a good base and remains in mount.

Gruber postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Cook badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Gruber around the waist but Gruber pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Gruber is the winner by TKO! Gruber jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
