PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Oliver Radcliff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Magnar Styr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Radcliff comes to the cage accompanied by Fatal - Kick me down. Styr comes into a darkened arena with his song building. The song of a freeman kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! On his way into the cage it seems that Oliver Radcliff has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Oliver Radcliff seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Oliver Radcliff!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Magnar Styr!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Andrew Berry and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice straight punches there by Styr. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Styr.
Radcliff tries to close the distance and clinch but Styr swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Radcliff walks into a stiff left hand from Styr.
Radcliff fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Styr on the side of the head.
Styr misses with a low kick.
Styr does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Radcliff tried to counter with a leg kick but Styr avoided it.
Radcliff throws a head kick that misses.
Styr scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Radcliff doesn't seem bothered though.
Styr cracks Radcliff with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Styr looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Radcliff takes one to the side of the head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Radcliff thows a left - swing and a miss!
Styr misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Styr pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Styr takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Styr uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Radcliff.
Styr is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Styr throws a nice outside leg kick.
Magnar Styr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Styr throws a low kick but Radcliff avoids it.
Styr looks to throw the jab but Radcliff is out of range.
Styr pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Styr delivers a nice body kick.
Radcliff shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Styr has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Styr jabs Radcliff right on the nose. Radcliff blinks but takes it well.
Styr connects with a crushing straight, right on the bridge of Radcliff's nose, sending him crumpling to the mat! That's really rocked Radcliff - is he going to beat the count??? 4,5,6,7,8,9.....10 - he's not made it - this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Magnar Styr! Magnar Styr retains his heavyweight title!
Magnar Styr decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
