Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rick Ashton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Myers Hockles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ashton's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Lynyrd Skynyrd - Simple Man. On his way into the cage it seems that Rick Ashton has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Rick Ashton seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ashton ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Ashton shoots in looking for a takedown. Hockles tries to sprawl out of it but Ashton keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hockles manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Rick Ashton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ashton throws a hook to the side of Hockles's head but Hockles sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Hockles has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Hockles! Ashton is out on his feet! Hockles rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Ashton is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Ashton is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
