Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Phil Killer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tomo Fez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Phil Killer has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Fez is defended easily by Killer.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Fez has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Fez looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Fez tries for a takedown but Killer sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

so Fez counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Killer is on top in guard.

Killer would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fez is looking for a triangle but Killer pushes his legs off easily.
Killer might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Killer throwing strikes but missing.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Killer postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Killer shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Fez manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Killer stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fez swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Killer knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Fez on the ground.

Killer looking to sit in guard and control but Fez gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Fez slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Fez accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Fez wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Killer, who protects the arm well.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Fez has got one arm under Killer's chin. This could be trouble... Killer trying to control the other hand but Fez gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Killer has tapped out! The fight is over!
