Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Fritz Drake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Felix Menlowe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Felix Menlowe has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Fritz Drake!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Felix Menlowe!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Steven Brown and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drake keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Drake stuffs the takedown attempt from Menlowe. Menlowe gets slowly back to his feet.

Drake drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Menlowe tries to bench press Drake off him but Drake keeps the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Menlowe keeps trying to improve his position.
Menlowe wants to control but Drake postures up.

Drake tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Menlowe is trying to get back to half guard.
Drake landing strikes.
Drake cracks Menlowe with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Menlowe trying his best to control but Drake has mounted him.

Menlowe is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Drake cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Drake can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Menlowe is looking to escape.

Drake is landing with some decent strikes but Menlowe is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Drake postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Menlowe looks a forlorn figure.
Menlowe is bucking up trying to escape but Drake cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Drake lands with some strikes.
Drake will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Menlowe is desperately trying to improve his position but Drake has a good base and remains in mount.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Drake with a couple of short strikes.
Drake lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fritz Drake dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Drake throws a sloppy head kick
and Menlowe counters with a one-two to the body.
No luck for Menlowe with that takedown attempt.

Menlowe has closed the distance and engaged Drake in a clinch.
Drake blocks an elbow strike.
Drake is trying to drag Menlowe to the mat but Menlowe just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Drake scores a nice knee to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Menlowe can't get the takedown.
Drake really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Drake's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Menlowe throws a right hand that Drake ducks under and follows up with a left that Drake also avoids with ease.
Drake wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Drake will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Menlowe tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Menlowe tries a head kick but it misses.
Drake looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.

Menlowe closes the distance and pushes Drake back into the cage.
Drake jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Menlowe walks away with a smile on his face. Drake gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fritz Drake. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Menlowe drives through and clinches with Drake against the cage.
Menlowe tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Drake is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Menlowe can do to turn this around?

Drake breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Menlowe closes this distance looking for a takedown but Drake circles away.

Menlowe drives through and clinches with Drake against the cage.
Menlowe throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Drakes head.
Drake tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Drake prevents the takedown attempt.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.

Drake pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Menlowe tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Drake defends well and Menlowe ends up having to push Drake into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Menlowe fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Felix Menlowe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Menlowe is breathing heavily.

Menlowe moves into the clinch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Drake manages to pull guard.
Menlowe postures up.
Drake seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Drake is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Menlowe is controlling him.

Drake is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Menlowe defends well.
Menlowe must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Menlowe in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Menlowe throws a big right hand that misses.
Menlowe trying to control the position from guard on top but Drake is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Menlowe darts in looking for a takedown but Drake gets double underhooks and turns Menlowe into the cage.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Menlowe has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Drake after a bit of a struggle.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Drake is trying to push Menlowe away but Menlowe has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Menlowe trying to stall but Drake improves his position.
Drake blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Felix Menlowe showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Menlowe looks for a takedown but Drake sprawls well.

Menlowe clinches up with Drake and pushes him back against the cage.

Drake is working an open guard so Menlowe takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Menlowe throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Drake was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Menlowe shoots in looking for a takedown. Drake tries to sprawl out of it but Menlowe keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Drake manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Fritz Drake has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Felix Menlowe.

Drake throws out a loose jab but Menlowe uses good head movement to avoid it.

Menlowe shoots in looking for a takedown. Drake tries to sprawl out of it but Menlowe keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Drake manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Drake shoots for a double leg takedown but Menlowe sprawls well. He's pushed Drake's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Menlowe changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Menlowe's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Felix Menlowe is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Drake leaves Menlowe with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Menlowe takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

and Drake counters by clinching up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Menlowe throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Drake escapes and throws Menlowe's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Fritz Drake overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Drake trying to control the action but Menlowe is working from the bottom.

And that's the end of the fight!
Felix Menlowe comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Menlowe has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
