Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Adam Cote (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Spade (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Adam Cote!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 43 - 23 - 2, fighting out of Amsterdam, Scott Spade!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Albert Achterberg and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spade jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Spade goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Spade uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Cote.
Spade cracks Cote with a right hand to the side of the head.
Spade jabs Cote right on the nose. Cote blinks but takes it well.
Scott Spade seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Spade gets the takedown into side control.
You can see the frustration on Cote's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Spade is putting a hurting on Cote here, landing some big shots from side control.
Spade has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Cote is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Spade is controlling him well.

Spade tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Spade has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Cote is looking to reverse the position.
Cote is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Spade asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Well, with Spade on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Cote is tapping out... Can he escape the position?
Spade is hanging on to Cote's back as he tries to escape.

Spade lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Cote hold on?!
Cote manages to reverse the position and now he's in Spade's guard. Nice work there by Cote.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Spade is on top in guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Spade accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Cote is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Cote is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Cote looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Spade keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Cote's head.
Cote wants to stand and escape but Spade is having none of it.
Spade content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Spade stands and throws Cote's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Spade creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Spade takes an elbow to the forehead.
Cote pushes off an throws an elbow but Spade leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Spade is leaning against Cote and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Spade tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Cote throws a knee to the head but misses.
Spade can't find room to land a body shot as Cote controls the action.
Cote throws a punch but it's blocked by Spade.

Spade breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Adam Cote is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Spade throws a leg kick which misses Cote's front leg but catches the back leg as Cote tries to avoid it.
Spade connects with a good right hand that stumbles Cote. Cote circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Spade shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cote as he jumps to the side.
Spade lands a nice leg kick that just misses Cote's sensitive parts.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Spade.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Spade misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Cote fails with an attempt to clinch.
Cote throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Spade lands a body shot.
Spade fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Cote wants to clinch up but Spade keeps it at a distance.
Cote with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Spade to score with a decent uppercut.
Spade feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Cotes jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Spade has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Spade throws a wild body kick that Cote sees coming a mile off.
Cote tries to counter by clinching up but Spade breaks away and moves out of range.

Cote takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Spade scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Spade lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Cote doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Spade misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Adam Cote has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Scott Spade.
Cote looks to land a body kick but Spade moved away.
Spade throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Cote's waist but Cote gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Spade off to one side.

Cote is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Spade.
Spade looks to land a combination. Cote sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Cote chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Spade can pounce on him.
Jab, jab by Cote - just one landing.
Cote tries to close the distance and clinch but Spade swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Spade changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Spade tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Cote defends well and Spade ends up having to push Cote into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Cote moves in looking to clinch but Spade pushes him off.
Spade fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Cote looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

It looked like Cote wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Cote gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Cote uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Spade.
Spade just misses with a punch to the body.
Scott Spade seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Scott Spade showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Spade.
