Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Fred Russell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gray Shock!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shock closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Shock is fighting off a takedown attempt but Russell is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Shock to the mat. Shock regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Shock is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Russell presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Russell has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Shock is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Shock is trying to break the clinch but Russell is controlling him.
Shock has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Shock tries to circle away but Russell has him pinned against the cage.
Russell prevents Shock from breaking the clinch.
Shock wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Russell has him pressed against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Russell is trying to drag Shock to the mat but Shock just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Shock is trying to force a seperation but Russell has the dominant position.

Russell has Shock pressed against the cage, preventing Shock from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Russell is looking for a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fred Russell. That's going to take a lot out of him.

A frustrated look appears on Russell's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Shock lands a left and a right that send Russell crashing to the mat, dazed. Shock thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Russell is rocked!


It looks like Fred Russell has been cut.
Shock sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Russell's defenses. It connects perfectly with Russell's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Gray Shock!
Gray Shock decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
