Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Pablo Escobar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricardo Ramirez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Escobar comes to the cage accompanied by KoRn En Vivo Mtv. Ramirez is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Night Prowler -by- AC/DC. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Pablo Escobar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 21 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ricardo Ramirez!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ramirez misses with a low kick.
Ramirez has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Escobar is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Escobar avoids a kick to the body.
Ramirez lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Escobar throws out a powerful jab.
Ramirez ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Escobar moves away.
Escobar is looking for a counter combo.
A looping hook to the body misses from Escobar. Ramirez does a little dance to reset his feet.
Escobar looks for a takedown but Ramirez sprawls well.
Escobar uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ramirez.
Ramirez tries to move into range but Escobar moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Escobar ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ramirez moves away.
Ramirez throws a low kick but Escobar avoids it.
Escobar feinted with a counter takedown.
Ramirez avoids a punch combination nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Escobar tries for a takedown but Ramirez circles away easily
and Ramirez makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Escobar closes the distance and clinches up with Ramirez, looking for a takedown. Escobar pushes Ramirez against the cage but Ramirez circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pablo Escobar. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Ramirez throws a low kick but Escobar avoids it.
Escobar swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.

Ramirez uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Pablo Escobar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ramirez lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Escobar throws a series of punches but Ramirez avoids them all with ease.
Escobar walks into a stiff left hand from Ramirez.

Escobar is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Ramirez's half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Escobar wants to free his trapped foot but Ramirez is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Escobar is keen to just control but Ramirez is a slippery customer.
Escobar is looking to advance position but Ramirez won't allow it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ramirez connects with a nice short shot to Escobar's temple.
Escobar makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Escobar.
Escobar manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ramirez manages to get himself to full guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ramirez utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Escobar passes easily into side control. Nice work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Ricardo Ramirez will probably get the nod.
That's time! Escobar's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Ramirez ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Ramirez throws a jab but it's blocked by Escobar.
Escobar changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Escobar closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Escobar lands in his opponent's guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ramirez is on top in guard.

Escobar wants to sweep but no luck.
Ramirez stands and throws Escobar's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Ramirez is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Escobar has escaped the position, nice work there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ramirez is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Escobar has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Ramirez has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Ramirez is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Escobar can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Ricardo Ramirez has got the better of the ground game so far.
Escobar tries to lock up and control but Ramirez gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Escobar is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at School Of Hard Knocks, so we'll see if he gets out of it.
Escobar is looking to improve his position but Ramirez isn't that keen on the idea.
Ramirez lands a heavy elbow.
Escobar tries to reverse the position but Ramirez maintains control.
Ramirez scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Ramirez lands a big elbow - Escobar is in trouble! More strikes from the mount and Escobar is forced to tap out!
