Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sergio Pettis!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Ben Hemmingworth and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kalawa misses with a hook. Pettis ducked under it nicely.
Kalawa throws an overhand right that lands on Pettis's shoulder, as Pettis tries to avoid the shot.
Pettis misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Pettis shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Pettis showed some decent athleticism there.

Pettis is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kalawa gets back to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kalawa looking to hit a scissor sweep but Pettis is one step ahead there.
Kalawa will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Pettis trying to control the position from guard on top but Kalawa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Pettis drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Kalawa dives on top into guard.

Kalawa content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
