The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malachai avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Vegan moves in looking to clinch but Malachai pushes him off.
Malachai connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Tao Malachai dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Malachai feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Vegans jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Malachai fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Vegan looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Vegan moves into the clinch successfully.
Malachai stalling in the clinch but Vegan improves position.
Vegan slows down the pace here.
Vegan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Tao Malachai seems to be getting the better of the standup.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Vegan. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Malachai is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Vegan drops an elbow to the side of Malachai's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vegan thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Malachai's head.
Malachai is looking to escape.
Malachai tries to kick Vegan off in order to stand up. Vegan Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Malachai takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Malachai is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Vegan is controlling him well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
